Let Minu age be x, therefore Anu age will be x - 3

One year ago, the age of Minu was twice the age of Anu.

One year ago their ages Minu's age x - 1 and Anu's age was x - 3 - 1 = x - 4

x - 1 = 2 (x - 4)

Now solving the equation

x - 1 = 2x - 8

x -- 2x = —8 + 1

--x = —7

x = 7

Minu’s present age is 7 years.
