My dear Mother,

I received your letter yesterday. You needn't worry about my hostel. Life is very peaceful and congenial to studies here. Of course, the students have to maintain discipline. They have to take their meals on time and even go to bed on time. In the beginning, it did look irksome but now I am accustomed to these things. What is more, I have begun to like these things.

My studies are going well. Thank God, I have got a room-mate who is very intelligent and hardworking. So we, together are doing very well. I have good relations with other inmates of the hostel as well. The food is healthful if not very tasty. The teachers are learned and dedicated to learning.

In brief, I am very happy about being here.
