Mr Mittal
The only homely character in that unknown world called boarding school was the master of words, the charmer of stories, my English teacher Mr Arun Mittal. His ability to transport us across the nations merely by telling us about his various adventures and stories was extraordinary. Mr Mittal must have had a very reckless life, because as he says "Bad decisions make good stories." As the time for his retirement is right at our doorstep, my mind travels back to the first time I met this amusing person.
More than a teacher he is a friend and a companion to all his students. Even the ones who have passed out of school, still come back often only to visit Mr Mittal and to hear his iconic dialogue, "What jobless little buffoons you are!"
