=) x-2= 5(y-2)

=) x-2= 5y-10................(1)

2 years hence

=) x+2= 8+3(y+2)

=) x+2= 8+ 3y+6.........(2)

from (1) &(2)

=) x= 5y-8 .......(from 1)

substitute the value of x in eq^n(2)

=) 5y-8+2= 3y+6

=) 5y-3y= 6+6

=) 2y= 12

=)y= 6

Son of age = 6 years

father age

=) putt the value of y in eq^n (1)

=) x= 5y-8

=) x= 5×6-8

=)x= 30-8

=) x= 22

Father age of 22 years
