Answer:

The missing numbers of the following equivalent ratio is 1.

Step-by-step explanation:

The values which can be simplified and reduced to get the same value is known as Equivalent ratio.

Given,

20 : 4 = 5: __     ..........................................(1)

Here we have to find the missing equivalent ratio.

The above equation can be written as,

\frac{20}4} = \frac{5}{y}    .....................................................(2)

Here we have to find the value of y.

To find the value of y:

  • We have to divide the numerator and denominator of the first value with the common number to get the numerator of the second value.
  • The answer that we get while dividing the denominator of the first value gives the value of y.
  • In case if the numerator of the second value was not given,It can be  obtained by dividing the numerator of the first value which gives the answer.

\frac{20/4}{4/4} = \frac{5}{1}   .................................................(3)

The common number that we have used here to divide was 4

Therefore, The answer of y = 1

The missing numbers of the following equivalent ratio 20:4 = 5:__ is found to be 20:4 = 5:1
