Given :-

A ball is drawn from a box containing 6 red balls,4 white balls and 5 black balls

To Find :-

Probability of not red

Solution :-

Total outcomes = Red balls + White balls + Black balls

Total outcomes = 6 + 4 + 5

Total outcomes = 15

Now

Total balls (not including red) = 4 + 5

Total balls (not including red) = 9

Now

Probability = Favourable outome/Total outcomes

Probability = 9/15

Probability = 3/5

Solution :

As per the details mentioned in the question

• A ball is drawn from a box containing 6 red balls , 4 white balls and 5 black balls .

We need to find the probability that the ball drawn is not red .

First, let us discover the sample space for this .

Sample Space - Total number of balls

> 6 red balls + 4white balls + 5 black balls

> 15 balls .

Number of favourable cases when the ball isn't red -

> Total number of balls - Number of red balls

> 15 - 6

> 9 balls .

Required probability -

> Favourable Cases/ Sample space

> 9/15

> 3/5

> 0.6

Answer - The probability that the ball drawn isn't red is 0.6
