Given :- A is the smallest positive integer which when divided by 9 and 12 leaves remainder 8. B is the smallest positive integer which when divided by 9 and 12 leaves remainder 5. Which one of the following is the value of A - B ?

(a) 3

(b) 2

(c) 1

(d) 0

Answer :-

→ A = (LCM of 9 and 12) + 8

→ B = (LCM of 9 and 12) + 5

so,

→ A = 36 + 8 = 44

→ B = 36 + 5 = 41

then,

→ A - B = 44 - 41 = 3 (a) (Ans.)
