First convert 36 km/hr into m/s =36×5/18 =10 m/s

Time taken by the train to cross the pole or tower =distance covered by the train to cross it/speed of train

As distance covered by the train in this case will be equal to the length of train. As we say train has crossed the pole or tower only when first the last end of the train has crossed the pole.

Hence time=100/10 =10
