let the ratio be 2x+3x=5x

hence

5x=5.6

x= 5.6÷5

x=1.12

2x=1.12×2= 2.24

3x=1.12×3=3.36

hence we can mark a point on the line at the distance 2.24 cm from our left side to divide the whole line in 2:3
