In 2004 the cost of organising the concert was $385.
In 2005 the cost was 10% less than in 2004.
10 % of cost in 2004 =
10 % of 385 = (10/100) 385 = 38.5 $
cost in 2005. = Cost in 2004 - 10 % of cost in 2004
=> cost in 2005. = 385 - 38.5 = 346.5 $
The cost of $385 in 2004 was 10% more than the cost in 2003
Let say Cost in 2003 = x $
10 % of cost in 2003 = (10/100)x = 0.1x $
Cost in 2004 = x + 0.1x = 1.1 x$
1.1x = 385
=> x = 350
Cost in 2003 = 350 $
