Answer:

a)when we plant seeds at depth they can't be seen and eaten by birds.

b) in broadcasting we randomly throw seeds here and there, chances are more that the seeds will be eaten by birds.but in seed drill it pushes the seed inside the soil and also it is very fast and prevents wastage of seeds.

Answer:

1 Seeds should be sown at proper depth so that they can get air, water and later on sunlight for development. Also their roots may develop at proper depth to hold plant.

The depth at which seeds are planted plays an important role because in some plants such as corn the seeds should be planted deep about two inch from the surface because if these corn plants are not planted deep their root system will be formed near the surface of the earth and they cannot absorb adequate water and nutrients.

Hence this can lead to decrease in crop yield so some of the plants should be planted deep.

2.Sowing of seeds by seed drill is better than broadcasting method because :

1.The seed drill sows the seeds uniformly at apporiate distance and depths.

2.The seeds ensures that seeds get covered by the soil after sowing .This prevents the damage caused by birds.

3.Sowing , by using a seed drill , saves time and labour.

But by broadcasting method the seeds are scattered over the fields by hand . This

method is not efficent because it cannot ensure proper spacing between the seeds

or help to sow them at right depth.
