20. Ifx+y= 12 and xy = 14, then find the value of (x2+)​

Answer 1

x+y = 12

or,(x+y)^2 = (12)^2

or,x^2 + 2xy + y^2 = 144

or,x^2 + y^2 = 144 - 2xy

= 144 - 2×14

[ As xy = 14]

= 144 - 28

= 116 [ Ans]
