We know OA = OB = OC = OD = 14 cm .

So area of the big circle = \pi r^2  (Here we have r = 14 cm)

=> \frac{22}{7} * 14 * 14    

=> 616 cm²

Note that to get the area of the small circle , notice that the diameter of the circle is OB , which is 14 cm .

So the radius of that circle is 14 ÷ 2 = 7 cm .

Hence area of the small circle = \pi r^2

=> \frac{22}{7} * 7 * 7

=> 154 cm²

So area of the shaded region = (Area of big circle) - (Area of small circle)

=> (616 - 154) cm² = 462 cm²
