A wire upon continuous action of load in downward direction will elongate the wire, because of the work done by the weigh which is suspended from the long wire, and a point will come when the wire will cross its elastic deformation region and reach plastic region and upon continuous load of force it will lead to fracture.This fracture causes due to the rise in temperature of the wire under the continuous action of weight tied to the wire.
