20 litres of a mixture contains milk and water in the ratio 5:3. If 4 litres of
mis mixture be replaced by 4 litres of milk, find the ratio of milk to water in
the new mixture.

total litres of mixture =20litres
no.of.litres of milk is 5÷8×20=25/2
no.of.litres of water is 3/8 × 20=15/2
4litres of milk is added
25/2 + 4=33/2
the new ratio is 33/2 : 15/2
=33/2 × 2/15
=11/5
=11:5
