The number of men is inversely proportional to the number of days
Let’s suppose the variable of men is m and the variable of days is d
First we have to find the value of k
m=k/d
20=k/16
k=20(16)
k=320
Now let’s find the number of men required to finish the work in 2 1/2
m=k/d
m=320/(2 1/2)
m=320/(5/2)
m=320*2/5
m=64*2
m=128
Now we will have to know how many MORE men are required to finish the work in 2 1/2 days. We only have to minus the number of men who can finish the work in 16 days from the number of men who can finish the work in 2 1/2 days.
128-20=108
