Hello.

20% of the pole is painted green and 45% of the pole is painted yellow. So, 35% will be painted in red. Now, coming back to the question, 35% of the pole is painted in red.

This means that 35/100 * 18m = Part of pole painted in yellow.

This is equal to 6.3m, ie. the pole of 18 m has 8.1 m painted in red.

Hope it helps.

Answer by Aparna :

Total length of a pole= 18 cm ( No matter if it is in metre answer will be same)

% of pole painted in green = 20%

% of pole painted in yellow =45 %

% of pole painted red = 20% + 45% - 100 % ( 100 will be there because percentage is over all in 100 or % )

Continuation : 20% + 45% - 100%

                       = 65% - 100%

                       = 35 %

Length of pole painted red = 35 / 100 x 18

                                              = 63 /10

                                              =6.3cm

So, the length of a pole painted in red will be 6.3 cm.
