When both the resistors are connected in series, then,

Net resistance = (20+10) ohms

Now the current flow through the circuit will be

=\frac{V}{R} =\frac{10}{30}A\\=\frac{1}{3}=0.33A

When resistors are connected in parallel, then

Net resistance =

\frac{1}{R} = \frac{1}{R_{1}} +\frac{1}{R_{2} } \\=\frac{1}{10} + \frac{1}{20} = \frac{1+2}{20} ohms\\R = \frac{20}{3}ohms

Current flows through the circuit =

\frac{10}{\frac{20}{3} } = 1.5A
