Minimum distance they should walk = LCM(40,42,45)

Now,

40 = 2 × 2 × 2 × 5

42 = 2 × 3 × 7

45 = 3 × 3 × 5

LCM = prime factors with highest power

=> LCM = 3² × 5 × 7 × 2³

=> LCM = 45 × 56

=> LCM = 2520

Minimum distance = 2520 cm

Answer:

It is given that three persons steps measure are 30 cm, 36 cm and 40 cm respectively. To find the minimum distance each should walk so that each can cover the same distance in complete steps, we have to find L.C.M. of 30, 36 and 40. Therefore the minimum distance is 360 cm
