Dude, during earlier days, the cylinders were filled with 2% oxygen and 98% helium (helium has less solubility in blood). Now-a-days, the composition is 11.7% helium, 56.2% nitrogen and 32.1% oxygen (This is in a GK book called Lucent's General Knowledge).
