20 points! Only if you HELP ME!!! THIS IS FAMILY AND CONSUMER SCIENCE

Decide on an organization to visit. Take some time to brainstorm a list of places local to you that help your community. You may use your local yellow pages or an Internet search engine to come up with an idea. Take some time to consider which organization you would like to know more about and generate some questions about that organization.

Contact your site and ask to speak with someone about the organization. It may be a volunteer or someone who works for the organization. Explain that you need to talk to someone about the organization for a school assignment. Take time to set up a phone interview with that person, agree on a day and time that is convenient for you both.

Revisit your questions. Create a list of 10-15 specific questions about the organization and their role in your community, as well as the specific person you are speaking with and how he or she helps the organization. Remember to keep in mind who, what, where, when and why.

During your interview, remember to speak slowly and pay attention. Do not try to write down everything your interviewee says, only focus on the main ideas and specific points that appeal to you. Don’t be afraid to ask follow-up questions or ask your subject to repeat himself or herself or to clarify his/her words.

On the same day as your interview, if possible, write up a narrative description of your interview. The sooner you do the narrative description after the interview, the fresher all of the conversation will be in your head. Your interview notes will make a lot more sense, too.

Keyword research is a fundamental step for every successful SEO campaign. It involves discovering and analyzing phrases and terms that people are actually typing into the search engines to find local businesses like yours.

Google uses the text and hidden code on a website to understand what it’s about. It’s very important to optimize a website around keywords that people are actually using.

For example, a painting company may be inclined to optimize their exterior painting page around the term “exterior residential painting” because that is the term the industry uses. However, through keyword research, they may find that people are actually using the term “home painting service.” If that’s the case, their page should be optimized around the term “home painting service”.

If you are a local business, you can also add a geo-modifier to a keyword to make it location specific. For example, “home painting service Portland” or “home painting service Portland Oregon.”
