Given :- Sohan's house has one bedroom hall with kitchen. His son needed a separate room for study. Thus Sohan planned to construct a new room with length 4m, width 2m and the height 3 m as shown in the following figure.

The room was separate at the roof of the house. The dimensions of the bricks used are: 25cm x 10 cm x 5 cm

A) Total how many bricks will be required ?

a. 30000

b. 40000

C 28800

d. 27000

B) How many bricks will be used on both walls along the length (length-4 m) ?

a. 19200

b. 20200

C 18800

d. 17000

C) What is the volume of the room ?

a. 24 m³

b. 12m³

C. 20m³

d. 15 m³

D) What is the area of the floor ?

a. 10 m²

b. 12 m²

c. 8 m²

d. 9 m²

Solution :-

we know that,

Volume of cuboid = Length * Breadth * Height .

1m³ = 1000000 cm³ .

so,

→ volume of room = 4 * 2 * 3 = 24 m³ (Ans.C) (Option a)

now, Let us assume that, x number of bricks are required on both walls along the length .

then,

→ Volume of room = x * volume of each brick

→ 24 * 1000000 = x * 25 * 10 * 5 .

→ 24000000 = 1250x

→ x = 19,200 (Ans.B) (Option a)

also, Let us assume that, y number of bricks are required on both walls along the breadth .

then,

→ (Volume of room/2) = y * volume of each brick

→ (24 * 1000000)/2 = y * 25 * 10 * 5 .

→ 12000000 = 1250y

→ y = 96,00

therefore,

→ Total number of bricks required = 19,200 + 96,00 = 28,800 (Ans.A) (Option c).

hence,

→ Area of the floor = Length * width = 4 * 2 = 8 m² . (Ans.D) (Option c) .
