Answer:

ground floor 18 , first floor 15

Step-by-step explanation:

given ,

           total no.of rooms = 33

 let,

         no.of rooms in first floor be  ' X '

          no.of rooms in ground floor  is 2X - 12

  i.e.,

          X +  2X - 12  =  33

                   3X -12   =  33

                           3X =  33 +12

                            3X = 45

                               X = 45/3

                                X = 15

VERIFICATION ;

no.of rooms in first floor = X =15

no.of rooms in ground floor = 2X -12

                                              = 2(15) -12

                                              =30 -12

                                              = 18

THERE FORE , TOTAL NO.OF ROOMS = 15 + 18

                                                                 = 33
