20 The sum of two numbers x and yis 11.
The product of the two numbers is 21.25.
a Write down two equations in x and y.
b Solve your equations to find the possible values of x and y.​

eq1: x+y= 11

eq2: xy=21.25

(x+y)sq= 11sq

or..xsq+ysq+2xy=121

or..xsq+ysq+2×21.25=121

or..xsq+ysq+42.5=121

or...xsq+ysq=121-42.5

or...xsq+ysq=78.5

for my opinion...the above to eqs will be the same as mentioned above and the second question is slightly wrong because the whole question is setuped to find the xsq+ysq and we have to use the law (x+y)sq to find out....

so...I did it and the ans is 78.5
