We know that, sum of all the 1 angles of a quadrilateral is 360°.

∴∠A+ ∠B + ∠C + ∠D = 360°

⇒ 48°+72°+144º+∠D=360º

⇒∠D=360-(48+72+144)

⇒∠D=360-264

⇒∠D=96º

∴The fourth angle is 96º.
