let the nos be = 8x and 3x

so 8x+3x= 143

= 11x = 143

x= 13

so 8x= 13*8= 108

3x= 39

2/3 x= x-20

-x = 30

x= -30

11x = 143

x = 143/11

x = 13

8x = 8 × 13 = 104

3x = 3 × 13 = 39
