Electrophiles are the electron deficient species or we can say they are electron acceptor.

A) AlCl3 is the correct answer becoz here after bonding also Al is having only 6 electron in its octet instead of 8 so it is an electron deficient species.

Answer:

The electrophile from the given options is AlCl_3.

Explanation:

As we have learned in class, electrophiles (electron lovers) are those compounds that are electron deficient. Thus, they can accept a pair of electrons, since they have unpaired valence electrons even after the formation of a compound.

In the case of AlCl_3 , even after forming the compound, Al has only 6 electrons (3 pairs), and thus, has an incomplete octet. It is deficient by 2 electrons, and thus, it can accept a pair of electrons when in a solution.
