• It's chemical name is Hexamethylenetetramine which is created by reaction of formaldehyde with ammonia. Urotropine is employed as urinary antiseptic.
• Hexamethylenetetramine or methenamine, also referred to as hexamine or urotropine may be a heterocyclic compound with the formula $(CH_2)_6N_4$

Uses of urotropine:

1) it's utilized in the assembly of powdery or liquid preparations of phenolic resins and its compounds where it's added as a hardening component.

2) As a mandelic acid salt, it's used for the treatment of tract infection.
