Hi ,

i ) At present
__________

Father's age = x years

Mother's age = y years

Son's age = z years

ii ) 20 years back
____________

Father's age = ( x - 20 ) years

Mother's age = ( y - 20 ) years

Average of their ages = 23 ( given )

( x - 20 + y - 20)/ 2 = 23

x + y - 40 = 46

x + y = 46 + 40

x + y = 86 --------------( 1 )

At present average of family = 35 ( given )

( x + y + z )/ 3 = 35

x + y + z = 105

86 + z = 105

z = 105 - 86

z = 19

Therefore

At present son's age = z = 19 years

I hope this will usful to you
