200 cm of 0.2 M NaOH solution is mixed
with 400 cm of 0.1 M HCl taken in a polythene calorimeter.
The temperature of the system was found to increase from 298 K
to 289.9 K. Heat capacity of calorimeter system is 15 JK-1 and
specific heat of water is 4.2 J/Kelvin gram.Assuming density of
solutions as 1 g cm , calculate the enthalpy change of the
following reaction:
HCl(aq) + NaOH(aq) gives NaCl(aq)+H20
