Day 1

We were in Delhi this winter and had planned a day out at Agra. We booked a cab at our hotel itself from Paharganj - Agra - Paharganj.

Distance from Delhi -

Travel time - 4.5 hrs (1 halt at Vrindavan for 30 mins)

Cab Cost - ₹6000 ( Innova, 6 pax)

We started the day at 7 am and headed towards Agra via Yamuna expressway. The roads were superb and we found ourselves alone in the entire expressway most of the time throughout the journey.

We reached Agra at 11.30 am and from there it took us 0.5 hrs more to reach Taj Mahal as the city was too crowded.

We had to take another rickshaw from the Taj circle as vehicles were not allowed to go in. After we got down from rickshaw we had to make a 10 mins walk towards the ticket counter.

The entry fees charges are as per below

For Indians

₹50 - viewing the Monument just from outside

₹250 - inside the Taj Mahal

For foreigners

₹150 - viewing the Monument just from outside

₹600 - inside the Taj Mahal

The entrance of the Taj premises had beautiful and a huge gateway known as Great Gate. Followed by the Taj Mahal garden which had few seats and water  fountains. All other tourists were busy clicking the signature pinching the top most tip of Taj Mahal picture. After entering the great Gatsby and walking through the garden the mesmerizing view of Taj is to die for. We clicked tons of pictures to satisfy ourselves. Since we had opted for ₹250 ticket we got a chance to see what's inside the Taj Mahal. Before entering the Taj Mahal we were asked to wear shoe coat in order to avoid damage to the marble flooring.
