Summary of throwing a tree

The poem is about nature and in it, Hardy questions technology. There is of alot personification within it, for example, 'the proud trees that bears the death-mark on its side'. The purpose of this is to make the trees seem like they are alive so that the reader can empathise more towards it being cut.
