200cm3 of a liquid of density 0.7g/cm3 is mixed with 100cm3 of another liquid of density 0.9g/cm3. Assuming there was no loss of the liquid during mixing and there was uniform mixing,find the density of the mixture.

Answer:

Density of mixture or total density = 0.76 g/cm³

Explanation:

We have information about

Liquid 1,

V1= 200 cm³ ; d1=0.7g/cm³

Consider ¶(rho)

We know that,

Mass=Density x volume = 0.7*200=140 g

m1 = 140g

Liquid 2,

V2=100 cm³ ; d2= 0.9 g/cm³

m2= 0.9*100=90g

m2 =90g

Mixing of liquid 1 and liquid 2

Total density = total mass / total volume

= m1+m2 / v1+ v2 = (140+90)/(200+100)

=230/300

Density of mixture or total density = 0.76 g/cm³
