The final temperature of the mixture is 38°C.

Explanation:

Let the final temperature be T°C.

Then

Heat lost by hot water = 0.2 x 4200 x ( 80 - T)

Heat gained by cold water = 0.3 x 4200 x ( T - 10)

According to their principle of mixture.

Heat lost = Heat gained

0.2 x 4200  x ( 80 - T) = 0.3 x 4200 x 9 (T - 10)

16 - 0.2 T = 0.3 T - 3

Or 16 + 3 = 0.3 T + 0.2 T

Or 19  = 0.5 T

T = 19 / 0.5

T = 38°C

Thus the final temperature of the mixture is 38°C.
