Inertia of direction is inability of a body by virtue of that it cannot change its direction of motion by itself. Some of the applications of inertia of direction are- 1. when a car makes a sharp turn at a high speed, the driver tends to get thrown to the other side due to directional inertia. 2. similarly when the car is moving in a straight line, the driver tends to continue in straight line motion. 3. when the unbalanced force is applied by the engine to change the direction of motion of a car.
