Answer:
Global warming is the long-term rise in the average temperature of the Earth's climate system. It is a major aspect of current climate change, and has been demonstrated by direct temperature measurements and by measurements of various effects of the warming.

Causes and effects of global warming
Explanation:
- Green House Effect is a natural phenomenon critical for the survival of living beings on the planet Earth. This effect helps the earth to remain warm. The process is simply that Greenhouse gases (gases present in the atmosphere like carbon dioxide, methane, water vapor, ozone, nitrous oxide which absorb and emit the solar radiation within thermal infrared range) trap the outgoing solar energy reflected by the Earth’s surface and keep the Earth warm.
- global warming is intensified green house effect or, human enhanced green house effect is global warming It simply means that the average global temperature is increasing. Human activities especially excessive clearing of forests and burning of fossil fuels has lead to this effect. When we clear the forests, the carbon trapped in it comes out in the atmosphere increasing its concentration and thus intensifying the Green House Effect. Same happens when fossil fuels are burned excessively.
- The time span of hot months has increased, the average temperature that used to be in those months has increased, winters are falling short and intense, rain patterns have changed, number of rainy days have decreased and in those days it may rain cats and dogs but a big part of it simply goes to run off and cannot be stored. This, is further leading to melting of ice caps, flooding of coastal areas, river flooding etc.
