Given : Rs. 18750 is invested by a person in the bank account of his two

sons whose ages are 12 years and 14 years in such a way that they

will get equal amount at an age of 18 years at the rate of 5% per

annum

To find : the share of younger child.

Solution:

Assuming Simpl interest :

Younger Son whose age is 12 year will get interest for 6 years

& elder son for 4 years

Let say Part of 12 year son = Rs P

then Part of 14 year son = 18750 - P

Amount of younger  son  at age of 18 years

= P + P * 5 * 6/100

=  1.3P

Amount of elder son  at age of 18 years

= 18750 - P  +  (18750 - P) * 5 * 4 /100

= (18750 - P)1.2

= 22500 - 1.2P

1.3P = 22500 - 1.2P

=> 2.5P = 22500

=> P = 9000

share of younger child. = Rs 9000
