Solution

Given :-

  • The rectangular frame of a picture is 15m long and 9m wide .
  • has a path of 1.5m wide outside it.

Find :-

  • Area of path

Explanation

Formula

Area of rectangle = (Length × Wide )

So, Calculate Area

==> Area of rectangular fram = 15 × 9

==> Area of rectangular fram = 135 m²

According to question,

It has a path of 1.5 n wide outside it.

That's means,

Here , a create a new rectangle

Where

  • Length be = 15 + 1.5 = 16.5 m
  • Wide = 9 + 1.5 = 10.5 m

Now, Calculate new Area

==> Area of new rectangular park = 16.5 × 10.5

==> Area of new rectangular park = 173.25 m²

We calculate here only path area

For this,

==> Area of path = Area of new rectangular park - Area of rectangular old park

==> Area of path = 173.25 - 135

==> Area of path = 38.25 m²

Hence

  • Area of path will be = 38.25 m²
