Given : Alan's age is 6 times of his son's age. After 5 years, his age will be 3.5 times his son's age

To Find : the ratio of Alan's age with respect to his son's age, after 10

years

Solution:

Son Age = x years

Alan's age = 6x year

After 5 year  Son Age = x + 5 years

After 5 years Alan/s age = 6x + 5 year

6x + 5 = 3.5 (x + 5)

=> 6x + 5 = 3.5x + 17.5

=> 2.5x  = 12.5

=> x =  5

Son Age = 5 years

Alan's age = 30  year

After 10 years  son age  = 15 years

After 10 years Alan's age = 40 year

Ratio

40 : 15

= 8 : 3

8:3 is the correct answer
