The whole figure is a rectangle.

Area of the rectangle = b x l = 4 x 12 = 48 m2

Area of the right triangle 1 = 1/2 x 2 x 4 = 4 M2

Area of the other right triangle = 1/2 x 2.5 x 3 = 3.75

So total area of shaded region = 48 - 4 - 3.75 = 40.25 m^2

Answer:

16.25cm^2

Step-by-step explanation:

firstly get the area of entire rectangle using the formula : l*b

i.e: 12 + 12 = 24cm^2

mextly we need to get the area of the two triangles of non shaded region by using formula as 1/2*l*b

i.e: for first triangle

1/2*2*4 = 4cm^2

for second triangle

1/2*2.5*3 = 3.75 cm^2

now finally to get the area of shaded region we need to eliminate the area of non shaded triangles from the entire region

i.e : 24-4-3.75 = 16.25 cm^2
