Step-by-step explanation:

ok

if two numbers are in ratio 5:6 means the the numbers

are 5x and 6x

if 7 is subtracted from 5x/6x

I.e. 5x/6x -7 =

5x - 42x/6x = (-37x/6x)

now the ratio becomes 4:5 = 4x/5x

hence

(-37x/6x =4x/5x)

now by eaequetting them you will get the value of x

Answer:

The numbers are 35 & 42.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the numbers be x & y.

x/y = 5/6

⇒6x = 5y

⇒6x - 5y = 0 -----> (1)

x-7/y-7 = 4/5

⇒5(x-7) = 4(y-7)

⇒5x-35 = 4y-28

⇒5x-4y = 7 -----> (2)

Multiply (1) by 5 & (2) by 6

⇒ 30x - 25y = 0 ---->(3)

⇒ 30x - 24y = 42 ----->(4)

(3) - (4)

⇒ -y = -42

⇒ y = 42

⇒6x - 210 = 0

⇒ x = 210/6 = 35

∴ x = 35 , y = 42
