a)Put x as 2 then 3 X 2^2=3x2^2

=3x4=6^2

12=36

b) Put y as 7

(-7)^2 =-(7)^2

=49=-49

c) Put a as 5 and b as 3 then 2 (5+3) is 2X8 =16

2a+b =2*5+3=13

16=13
