Hey !

Given,

In a bag, there are 1 Re, 50 p, 25 p coins

Total denomination of all coins = 216 Rs.

Ratio of their No. = 2:3:4

Let the No. of 1 Re coins be 2x

and the No. of 50 p coins be 3x

and the No. of 25 p coins be 4x

\\

Express 50 ps and 25 ps in terms of Re, as the total denomination is given in terms of Rs.

1 Re = 100 ps.

=> 50 Ps = 0.5 Re

=> 25 ps = 0.25 Re

\\

Total denomination of coins = sum of the product of Worth of each coin and the No. of coins.

=> Total denomination of coins = (No. of 1 Re coins × 1) + (No. of 50p coins × 0.5) + (No. of 25 ps coins × 0.25)

=> Total denomination = 2x(1) + 0.5(3x) + 0.25(4x)

= 2x + 1.5x+ 1(x)

= 4.5x

\\\\

From given Data,

4.5x = 216

=> 45x = 2160

=> x = 2160/45

=> x = 48

•°• Total No. of 50p coins = 3x = 3(48) = 144.

\\\\

Validation:

No. of 1 Re. coins = 2x = 96

No. of 50 p coins = 3x = 144

No. of 25 p coins = 4x = 192

216 = 96 Rs + 144 (0.5) + 192 ( 0.25)

216 = 96 Rs + 72 Rs + 48 Rs.

216 = 216

LHS = RHS
