217-x = x²-49 ... squaring both the sides
x²+x-49-217=0
x²+x-266 = 0
a=1, b=1, c = -266
∆=b²-4ac
=1-4×1×(-266)
= 1+1064
= 1065
By using quadratic formula,
x = (-b±√b²-4ac)/2a
= (-1±√1065)/2
x = -1+√1065/2 or -1+√1065/2
