here we see that 2 moles of H2 react with one mole of O2.

we know, volume of one mole of ideal gas is 22.4L.

so, 44.8 L of H2 reacts with 22.4 L of O2.

or, 22.4L of H2 reacts with 11.2L of O2.

so, volume of remaining O2 = 22.4 L - 11.2L = 11.2L

so, final volume = 11.2 L

and initial volume = 22.4 L + 22.4L = 44.8L

so, decreases in volume = 44.8 - 11.2 = 33.6 L
