Given :

  • Speed = v =50km/h
  • Time = t = 30min = (1/2) hour
  • Speed is increased by 20%

Let :

Distance between TownA & Town B = x

To find :

Time taken to travel from town A to town B with new speed

Formula used :

Distance = speed × time

Solution :

✪ In first case

speed = 50km/h

time = 30 minutes = 0.5 hour

Distance between Town A & town B = speed × time

➝ Distance between Town A & town B = 50 × 0.5

➝ Distance between Town A & town B = 25km

✪ In 2nd case

✪ In 2nd case➠ New Speed = original speed + 20% of original speed

➝ New Speed = 50 + (20×50)/100

➝ New Speed = 50 + 10

➝ New Speed = 60 km/h

Distance = 25km

Time taken = Distance ÷ New Speed

➝ Time taken = 25 ÷ 60 hour

➝ Time taken = (25/60) × 60minutes

Time taken = 25 minutes

ANSWER :

Option (c) 25 minutes
