22. A cross was carried out between a pure breed tall pea plant and a pure breed dwarf pea plant 3
andF. progeny was obtained. Later, the Fiprogeny was selfed to obtain F2progeny.answer the
following questions.
(i) what is the phenotype of the F, progeny and why?
Give the phenotypic ratio of the F2 progeny.

Answer:

(1) All plants are tall in F1 progeny

Because tall plant is dominant (TT) and short plant is ressesive (tt) and by crossing it we could get (Tt), (Tt), (Tt), (Tt).

By crossing F1 progeny we could get phenotype ratio as 3:1 in F2 progeny

(2) F2 projeny is different from F1 progeny because in F1 progeny we get all same character plant that is tall but in F2 progeny we get all the characters of height that is tall and short
