ANSWER ---------------

What is a defective eye ?

An eye in which its ciliary muscle cannot hold the crystalline lens properly whose function is to focus the images of different objects clearly on the retina, the person is unable to see either far - objects or nearer object or both is called a defective eye.

If an eye can see far-off objects clearly, but cannot clearly see the nearer objects , the the defect in the eye is called "Long -sightedness or Hypermetropia".

This can can be overcome by using a convex lens of appropriate focal length, so that he can clearly see the nearer objects.
