b.When the man is stationary, by taking man as a reference point the distance covered by escalator is L in time t2.

Speed of escalator, vc=t2L

c. Speed of man w.r.t. the ground, vm=vme+vc_

⇒vm=t1L+t2L =L[t11+t11]= L[t1t2t1+t2]

∴t=vmL=[t1+
