Given: A proton having wave length 360 pm is moving with velocity of light. Value of h = 6.626X10^-34 Js

To find: Mass of proton

Solution: Let the mass of proton be m, wavelength be l and c be the velocity of light.

c = 3 \times  {10}^{8} m {s}^{ - 1}

l = 360 pm

 =  > l = 360 \times  {10}^{ - 12}  \: m(1 \: pm =  {10}^{ - 12} m)

The formula for mass of proton can be found using the formula:

m=  \frac{h}{l \times c}

 =  > m =  \frac{6.626 \times  {10}^{ - 34} }{360 \times  {10}^{ - 12} \times 3 \times  {10}^{8}  }

 =  > m =  \frac{6.626 \times  {10}^{ - 34} }{1080 \times  {10}^{  - 4}   }

 =  > m = 0.006 \times  {10}^{ - 30}  \: kg

Therefore, the mass of the proton is

0.006 \times  {10}^{ - 30}  \: kg.
